I Am Sorry, Prayer

This piece came to me in a dream.

I had already built her - the feminine figure emerging from and becoming a tree, rooted and growing,

inseparable from where she stands. But I did not know what she was called until one morning I woke up and

knew. She belongs to the Ho'oponopono.

Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Four phrases repeated like a

mantra - I'm sorry. Forgive me. I love you. I'm grateful. Not directed outward in blame. Directed inward, toward

yourself, toward whoever you carry in your heart.

For me this prayer is not about guilt. It is about release. Love yourself. Accept yourself. Forgive yourself. Let the

path clear.

This piece is nature, woman, nurture. The reminder that we all need to feel valued - especially by ourselves.

Its counterpart is Live the Life You Want - made at the same time.
